2024 Cumberland Youth Baseball/Softball League Scholarships

CYBSL will award scholarships up to a total amount of $2,000.00, with a minimum amount of $500.00 and a cap of $1,000.00 for a single scholarship, to graduating high school seniors to aid in their pursuit of a post-secondary education.  The number and amounts of scholarships will be dependent on the quantity and quality of applications received.  CYBSL has a Scholarship Selection Committee that reviews all applicants and selects the recipients.  All information will be kept confidential.

Eligibility:

1. The applicant must be a graduating senior that has participated as a player or volunteer in the Cumberland Youth Baseball/Softball League for at least one year.

Procedures/Requirements:

1. Applications may be obtained from the guidance offices at Blackstone Valley Prep High School, Cumberland High School, Bishop Feehan, Bishop Hendricken, La Salle Academy, St. Raphael Academy, and Mount St. Charles Academy.   Applications may also be downloaded here.
2. All applications must be completed and post marked no later than May 10, 2024. 
3. Applications must be sent by certified mail to:

    4. Applicants may be asked to appear before the Scholarship Selection Committee.

    5. Scholarships are payable upon completion of first semester college/technical school academics.

    6. All Applicants must submit the following:

1. Completed application form
2. Copy of college or technical school acceptance letter or school application letter
3. Letter of graduate status signed by the principal or guidance counselor
4. Letter of recommendation from a CYBSL Board Member or CYBSL Coach (past or present)
5. A copy of most recent high school transcript showing courses and grades
6. A typed essay, no more than two pages, explaining how being part of a team (academic, sport, or organization) helped you and will continue to help your future goals and aspirations
7. Provide information of any activities, awards, commendations, and volunteer positions during your high school years
